Dr. Ashwini Shastri is a scholar of
Sanskrit, Hindi and Ayurveda. Son of Dr.
Bhim Sen Shastri (a renowned Sanskrit
Grammarian and an author of the Laghu
Siddhanta Kaumudi (Bhaimi Vyakhya), Dr.
Ashwini Shastri was born on 21st July 1965.
He had his early education from his father,
who initiated him to the secrets of Sanskrit
grammar and Ayurveda. It is a tribute to his
sharp mind that he committed to memory about
four thousand Sanskrit sutras of the
Ashtadhyayi of Panini in the young age of
eight. Dr. Varannikov, an Internationally
renowned Sanskrit-Hindi scholar of Russia
appreciated him for his fluent enunciation
of Ashtadhyayi sutras. |

Dr. Ashwini Shastri, obtained the oriental
degrees of PRAJNA, VISHARAD and SHASTRI from
the Kurukshetra University and B.A.(Sanskrit
 Honours) from the St. Stephen's College,
University of Delhi, M.A.(Sanskrit) from the
Hindu College, University of Delhi and Ph.D.
( Sanskrit Grammar and Karmkanda) from Shri
Lal Bahadur Shastri Kendriya Sanskrit
Vidyapeeth, New Delhi. He has also good
command over Ayurved and Astrology.
Dr. Ashwini Shastri, for about a decade, has
been associated with the Dabur group as
Chief Editor of the research magazine of
Health and Ayurveda “Ayurveda Vikas”. The
world renowned writer and journalist Mr.
Khushwant Singh in his famous weekly column
'With Malice Towards One And All....' has
appreciated the efforts of Dr. Ashwini
Shastri for making this magazine modernised
and redesigned to cater it to lay readers.

More than a dozen interviews and talks of
Dr. Ashwini Shastri on different subjects
have been telecast by All India Radio and
Radio Mauritius. He also has been associated
with the All India Radio and Doordarshan as
a casual Sanskrit News Reader and Editor for
more than ten years.
Dr. Ashwini Shastri had the opportunuty of
meeting a numbers of Presidents, Prime
Ministers, Cabinet Ministers and prominent
personalities as a journalist. He has to his
credit more than a hundred articles on
diffrent topics in National Dailies and
Reaserch Magazines. He has also been
associated with Manasee Masik Patrika and
Loksushree magazines as Editor. At present
he is associated with Editorial Deapartment
of Navbharat Times as senior journalist.
Delhi Sanskrit Academy awarded him the 'Navodit
Sanskrit Kavi Samman'. He received honours
from some other organizations also. He is
associated with Manav Seva Samaj, BSS
Foundation, Swamy Sahajanand Saraswati
Hitkari Samaj, Shipra Riviera Seva Samiti
for more than fifteen years. Among the books
Dr. Sh astri has authored are 'Akshararth
Vigyanam','The Miracle of Being
Human','Subhashit-Sankalanam', 'Baal-Namarth-Kosh.
He has exhibited his editorial skills in
editing the works Nutan Hastakshar, Paro,
Mahabharat Vimarsh, Yugdrashta, Chetna,
Chikitsa Aalok, Atharva Vediya Prithivi
Sukta and Anjaam-E-Daru. Some of his new
books 'Prachin Bharat aur Chinees Yatree', 'Daivopakhyan
Padya Sankalanam', 'Rochak Sanskrit Padyani'
and 'Kashthaushadhi Sangrah' are awaiting
publication.
